MOVIE QUICKIE : 004 - LET THE RIGHT ONE IN

This is my favourite movie of 2008. It is also easily my fav vampire movie ever, a genre that isn't exactly brimming with great films. It's about a 12 year old boy who befriends a 12 year old looking 200 year old vampiress. It's also Swedish and based on a Swedish novel. No, that isn't why you should see it. I'm being as obscure as possible, so you can discover it all for yourself. It is minimalist, haunting, enchanting, incredibly creepy and bloody atmospheric. Cloverfield director Matt Reeves who is making the Western remake Let Me In, promises not to turn it into Twilight. We can only pray. But since we already have the brilliant original, does it really matter? It won't scare you, but it will leave you in a strangely uneasy, yet comforting chill.
